Soft Focus interview with Henry Rollins

I had just started discussing with VBS the idea of doing an aimless, rambling chat show that focused on musicians and Henry Rollins had—magically it seemed—materialized. For those of you who dont know, Henry sang with SOA, Black Flag, and Rollins Band, has published countless books, re-released a trove of hard to find, amazing records, acted in movies by directors ranging from Richard Kern to Michael Mann, currently hosts his own talk show, and is also a radio disc jockey. We had a great, aimless rambling chat and I mentioned the idea of producing an aimless rambling chat show and, magically, he said hed be happy to appear on it. So thats how Henry Rollins ended up on Soft Focus. Those Masons are really something else, huh?

This is among BFs last shows as a quintet. Dez would leave a month later and formed the DC3. Bill Stevensons other band, the Descendents, went on hiatus due to Milos academic pursuits. Though, he also was a last minute replacement for ROBO who had visa problems during their European tour in December 1981. Dukowski stayed for the remainder of the year, instead becoming their manager and then forming his own band,SWA.

This is the video that the Rollins Band (OK, just Henry) shot in India - if youve heard his spoken word riff on his visit to India, this was the video that motivated (and paid for) the trip. Actually, I think its a great song, and a slick video in a usual Rollins on the outside looking in sort of way.Got to live out some of his Willard in Saigon image-fantasy (complete with overhead ceiling fan), and got to play with some cool snakes.

The Clock - Thom Yorke covered by Scott Keenan

How to play The Clock by Thom Yorke (acoustic).
Tune the A string up to a B and play that open the whole time. Mute the low E and then hit the D string on the 9th fret and move to the G string on the 7th fret.
Play the low E open and do the same hit (9-7 on D-G) and then move up to the 14th fret on the D string and the 12th on the high B string then slide down two frets with those notes (to the 12th and 10th frets on the D and high B strings).
The break down is harder to describe.
I recorded this so you could see the fingering better than the recordings of Thom Yorke. Hope it helps and sorry I dont come close to him.
